Some TV commercials are just plain stupid!!!!

I hate commercials period but plain stupid ones make me just sick. After the original Colonel Sanders passed away and has been dead for many years all of a sudden he is back. I don't know who is writing his scripts but evidently he was the same one that wrote for the first old Guy!!!!  I just saw a commercial about that 4 dollar box of chicken. The Colonel says you can fill your gas tank with 5 dollars or you can fill your stomach with his 5 dollar box. Can anyone remember the last time you filled your gas tank for 5 dollars????????? Maybe he is talking about your lawn mower or chain saw tank..............

That's why I DVR most programs and fast forward through the commercials.

Pretty sure you could replace the word "Some" with the words,"Most,if not all" commercials are just plain stupid.

I have a good memory and had a car with a small tank, in 1966 I could fill the tank when on fumes for $2.

Some folks think the commercials are great, how far we have fallen.

Since we've cut the cord I rarely even see commercials unless we're watching live sports. Occasionally I'll be caught off guard when I hear coworkers talking about something on TV and I'll think I'm missing some great new series or something, 9 times out of 10 it's some stupid commercial they thought was great.  :yuck:  :squint:  :stunned:

I really hate those Hardees commercials where they show people eating like slobs and making all those sounds. I have to change the channel or mute. Dogs eat with more manners than those people in those commercials.

At the end of some commercials, I'm left wondering what the product is that I'm supposed to buy.  Whatever happened to "here's my product, it's great, buy it".

What makes me mad is when you see a stupid or annoying commercial and you realize it's one that you are helping pay for. I've told my wife we should stop using Nationwide because I don't like paying for their stupid commercials.

I watch local TV in the morning for news. The commercials that bug me the most are the ambulance chasing lawyer commercials.

Without a doubt, asinine food commercials,BS spewing injury lawyers, and that worthless Dale Buchanan have NOTHING on commercials talking about a pill to get your johnson saluting again and 1 to bring back the moisture to that dried up berry !

Hmmm. I hate to date myself, but my parents were having this same conversation when we got our first TV set back in 1951 - 64 years ago!!

While I get annoyed with commercials when I am watching something I am really interested in, I do find some of them quite funny.  Some of them have some really subtle references in them that I don't think most people even get.

What annoys me most is still the volume increase.  How is a guy supposed to take a nap on the couch with the TV on when these loud commercials keep interrupting our sleep. :snore:

I like the commercials that are so bad, they have to play them back to back. Direct TV has the most annoying commercials, I can't stand them.

Supposedly there was a law passed a couple of years ago that stopped volume increases for commercials. You also have to remember that the DREK that is on the tube is geared for a 5th grade level. With reality TV this has even dropped lower. With the state of our school system today that means more of a 3rd grade level from our primary school days. If we put more money into teaching and less in bussing and sports this might help. I also DVR any shows I want to watch, some of the on demand do not let you FF through commercials.

I'm convinced The Weather Channel is funded by Cialis.  They seem to run that commercial before every local forecast. :puke:

When I lived in Illinois, it was mostly farm related commercials (Pioneer, DeKalb, ADM, etc)

Here it's injury lawyers, Sonic, and Title Max.

And to show my age, I remember when stations signed off around 1am.... no all night infomercials. :snore:

I'm not allowed in local Arby's since my last visit when I refused to leave the store until they made me a sandwich that looked like the one in the TV commercials. The manager finally made me one with all the meat they showed on TV and served it to me in a bag with fries and politely told me not to come back so I have not been back. They advertise that they have the meat so I wanted the meat..........

Nobody beats the Trivago guy! Can't even figure out what he's pitching because I spend the whole time wondering why in the world they thought this guy and his look were TV commercial quality. Is he young? Is he old? Is he old trying to be young? Is he a grown up from the Seattle grunge scene? Did he just get up? What's going on here?
