You'll like Pistol Craft 1. If I was able I would have taken Pistol Immersion. I had a great time.

Well just goes to show......apple doesn't fall far from the tree.  :shake:

 Totally unnecessary for civilian training.

There are very few people on this planet I would trust to shoot that close to me. And 90% of those that I would are Marines I have served with. The other ten percent are military and contractors. I just dont see a justification for that drill with live fire in a civilian setting, especially with a bunch of strangers I've never shot with. And I bet the noise and pressure wave was horrendous. Other than that the class looks interesting. Thanks for the review

I have to agree. This seems almost unbelievable to me in a civilian setting. I don't know if I could bring myself to let someone I had only just met shoot past me, much less shoot past them. With my luck, I'd have some crazy malfunction with the gun or the ammo that lands them in the hospital or the ground. That's just too much liability compared to the benefits gained from the drill in my opinion.

I'd be interested to see the video though. Maybe I'm misunderstanding how the drill works and am over reacting.

Good on you, OP, for taking a class though! It sounds like there was some really good stuff you got to learn.

I can actually understand where the concept comes from because in a environment where there was say an active shooter you would be shooting past others except far more chaotic than what is seen here. I actually like the idea in a training aspect but it is still nerve wracking nonetheless. I did it at Tactical Response with the "Instructor Downrange" that many take issue with but after actually doing it I see the need for understanding the concept that sometimes you will be shooting past non-threats to neutralize the bad guy.

That's exactly what it was for. Reid said that if we have to use our gun it definitely won't be on a square range. There are good people you'd have to shoot past.

And the students get to play the role of the "good people you may have to shoot past?"

So in the name of training for a 'what if' situation we break well known safety protocol and endanger brother, sister, husband, and wives???

There is an old saying that goes; just because you have to enter a shit eating contest doesn't mean you have to practice for it.

If it is that big of a concern then don't take the class. I had a few oh **** moments but then I realized I'm paying someone for their advice and opinion. I put this to show you what to expect from the class. I am not endorsing it or saying it is the right way to do things because it was just the way things were done. I don't mean to be an ass but it's just something I'm not going to try to explain.
