Well, I did it, Drank the Kool Aid.

Went to the gun store and walked out with a new Gen 4 Glock 19. Put close to 200 rounds through it immediately at the range and I have to say I like it way more than I thought I would. Only thing to do now is make a holster and magazine pouches and I'll be set to rock and roll with it.

It's a Glock, we all know what they look like but pictures will be coming later.

Well...not sure I'd call Glock perfection, but I am quite fond of them. Have had several, ahem...many would be closer to truth I guess, and still have a few of them left.

Are they great shooting guns and very serviceable tools? Yes. Definitely. But perfection? IMHO, no.

That was achieved with the S&W Model 19. OK...I'm ducking for cover now.

Congrats! They are the perfect tool when you need an ugly but extremely reliable pistol, one that you wouldn't mind sliding across the pavement as opposed a non ugly fine piece of craftsmanship :)

Did I mention they are ugly?

Nice Choice!!!  Congrats.  Well I just chose the shield 9mm over a glock 43...my first S&W  have a couple  glocks...the shield just felt better, and I shoot on target from the first shot...for some reason when I shoot glocks the first shot goes left..

I'm shocked. Is this the first gun than is younger than yourself?

You know, you might be right, with my affinity for old Com Bloc pistols and all.

Overall I consider the 4th Gen G-19 the best bang for the buck. It offers everything found in a full size service pistol but in a more carry friendly package.

Too much finger on the trigger? That's how it goes with me.

You know...whatever I say here will be wrong. So I'm saying nothing on this one.

I also succumbed to the dark side yesterday. Buds had a trade in Glock 30 with 2 mags at good price so I brought it home. Haven't had time to try it out yet so no range report. No pictures either, it looks like my model 26 with a bigger hole in the end of it.

I wasn't a Glock fan at all until I tried a Gen 4 G19. I own 5 of the d@mn ugly things now.

Too funny.  I knew from the title of the post that this would be about a Glock!!!!  It took me several years to drink that koolaid, too.  But eventually, I succumbed.......I love my Gen 4 Glock 19.  Enjoy with reckless abandon!!!

I guess I'm the only person who doesn't find glocks ugly.  I LOVE the look of my 26 and I love the simple no frills, no rail look of a gen 2 19! Maybe it's the minimalist in me. Congrats on the purchase.

Our Koolaid was a Glock 26 Gen 3. I don't know what happened but in April this year, somehow 2 more just showed up at our house. 2 29's. A gen 3 (sf, because I am a lady) with a beautiful Nickle Boron Finish on the slide and then a gen 4 for Monkey. Crazy how they multiply! Someone call Captain Kirk, I think they might be Tribbles in disguise!

I got my 17 in 1990.  Since then I've had another 17 and a 19.  Both of those are gone now, but I still have the original.  My second favorite after my Springer 1911.  Flame away.  I don't care.  I'm over 50. :)
