Carry laws pertaining to cash advance businesses

Is anyone aware of any laws that would prohibit employees of check cashing / cash advance / title loan businesses from carrying a firearm while on duty?

One of these establishments in our area was robbed at gunpoint last night, and one of the employees had the following to say:
 

It's a law that loan places like pay day and title loan offices can't have a weapon on premises unless it's privately owned.

 

Common sense tells me that someone has been feeding her a bunch of BS, or there was a misunderstanding along the way. I cannot see how or why the government could or would implement laws which would prevent employees of these businesses from carrying a firearm, but maybe I am out of the loop on this one. I suspect this is more along the lines of a company policy, rather than a law. What say you?

I don’t know why the law would be any different for a loan place than it is for a pawn shop, and they carry all the time. I don’t know why though any business would consider have a business owned firearm; too much liability. People that want to carry should have their own; those that don’t want to shouldn’t have a gun around.

But who knows for sure what the Federal Laws say.

I have a close friend that owns about 30 Cash  Loan/title loans businesses in and around middle Tennessee and he will not hire an employee that does not have a carry permit to work in any of his stores. He figures if you can't get an HCP or purchase a firearm he does not need you in his employ.  All of his employees are trained and armed.

I thought carrying was practically mandatory in that line of work.  There's a really entertaining video out there of a guy trying to rob one with a little .25 or something and the clerk pulls a huge revolver on the guy.  The robber did not stick around needless to say.

Can't carry in banks? Really? Has something changed? AFAIK banks weren't on any list of off limits places unless they had a rob us sign up telling gun owners they weren't allowed to carry inside while allowing robbers free access. Just curious.

Bull. Worked in a check cashing place, carried a gun with out a permit while at work and to and from. Also got told last week can't carry in a bank, was sitting in the bank at the time with 2 on me and one on my wife. Told him to check Tennessee law because unless posted they would not stop me from carrying.

That and the crap that you can't carryin a commercial vehicle really gets to me. Your employer can tell you not to carry in a big rig but there is no law against it.

In all honesty I think banks appreciate having legally arms citizens packing heat in their locations.  Notice you don't hear of near as many bank robberies as you did say 10 years ago? Banks still have money in them and seldom an armed guard. The bad guys just don't know when there may be 1 or two well armed good guys in the bank and they can't watch everyone unless they come in as a gang..................jmho

BB&T is a gun free zone so they are very safe places to bank.  Their anti-gun force field will make sure you can't get robbed in one.  :)
