NEW $13 AR SCRAPER ACTUALLY WORKS!

Recommended Posts

Well Yee-Haw, somebody finally came up with a bolt carrier group scraping tool that is well made, works like a champ, and is affordable. It's called the Real Avid AR15 Scraper. I bought a scraping tool four years ago for $45 and choked on the price. But this one only sells for $13 at Primary Arms. All I can say is it's about time!!

This is the manufacturers link that shows how the scraper works and lists the price at $19.95.

This is the link to Primary Arms, where the scraper sells for only $12.95.

I tried this tool last night on the tail of the bolt and the bolt tunnel in the bolt carrier and it really did a good job. FYI

Added to my wish list on Primary Arms.  I'll add it to my next biannual purchase.

Thanks for sharing.

Yeah they're on Amazon for $16 too.

Just out of curiosity, have you used the Otis Bone Tool? If so, how would you compare the performance?

No sir I haven't. Sorry. I've used the MagnaMatic CRT 15 tool, which works fine, but can only be used for two specific applications and is up in the $36-$45 range, which is ridiculous in my book. Edited by EssOne

All right!!!!  I was doing a pretty poor job of cleaning the carbon off just a few nights ago and thinking that there has got to be a better way.  I am ordering one of these.

Looks like a great field tool....gona add one to my gear pack.....however, I thought everyone soaked their BCG before trying to scrape off the gunk.....I soak mine in Precision Clean and then spray with carb cleaner....works like a charm without scrubbing at all. Doesn't hurt anything and I'm done in 5 unmessy minutes.
