Stones River shooting range

I went to the Stones River shooting range last weekend since Owl Hollow was closed and I was pretty disappointed. It was alot of sitting and waiting and very little shooting. Their rules and cold range periods are really a henderance. I probably won't ever go back. Anyone know of any good outdoor ranges in middle TN?

I have heard that there is a TWRA range in Murfreesboro that is pretty nice. Not sure of the name of it though

I have never had a issue at Stones River. Most complaints I gather come fro the pistol side. The rifle side seems to let you have more time and put up multiple

targets. I usually do pistol early afternoon on Friday. The last two times I went, I was the only one there.

personally, I like viola down by manchester. Pay your 6 bucks, and noone bothers you the rest of the time you're there.

There's always the TWRA range in Cheatham, if shady non-supervised ranges are your thing. I always go with a group of buddies and I've never had anything but fun.

I've been at Cheatham before when some gentleman pulled up and pulled their loaded guns out of their puffy coats and started firing gangster style. This was about 5 years ago before they started charging for the range. At Cheatham, I will not go to get a target unless I am locked and loaded in my holster.
