is my dish hopper haunted or am I being spied on?

I'm a creature of habit, I watch fox news in the morning, local news at 5 until 6:30 each night.

I can put my tv on any channel and goto bed, when I get up and turn it on, it's already on fox.

I was watching cops yesterday before taking the family out to eat, when I got back and turned the tv on it was on my local news.

I'm just a little freaked out.

Here at work on board the tug the TV in my room is known to turn itself on after a power swap. While I might sleep through the power swap as it is a common occurrence but the second that TV starts talking it wakes me up....

My son just told me his does the same thing.

Mine just started doing that too. I'm sure it's all for our convenience and not at all about monitoring what we watch. .........

And we would never know if we are being watched with the "smart" tv either, perhaps the time is now.

That's a great feature if so, would love to not have to fumble with the remote at the crack of dawn before actually being awake.
