I really do work at trying to teach the grandkids stuff.  My son bitched at me a couple of years ago for not showing him more.  Little did he recall when he was a teen I was the dumbest MF on the planet.  LOL

^this^ as far as kids are concerned. Don't have grand kids
Not only did my dad teach me how to do many things, he taught me how to figure out how to do other things. Edited by Glenn

Looks like a good chance to teach him how to use a wrench and such while learning how to rebuild a mower deck and replace the blades. Followed by a quick instructional on how to properly use a lawn tractor.

when my son reached 17 he was always thinking of ways to get out of mowing.  he was handy with tools though

I guess I was lucky. I was a nerd too (in grade school, a B was pretty rare, mostly A's), but by the time I could turn a wrench, my Dad had me learning how to work on everything. And I was mowing when I was big enough to push a mower. I look forward to teaching my little boy the same.
