Health care rates going way up next year

Yep. Dealing with renewal right now at the office. Rate hikes are on the low end of that range. Pretty brutal.

To be clear, we provide better healthcare than Obamacare.

However, Obamacare is driving our costs through the roof.

My rates have already gone up 150% in the last three years. They told us just last month that if we (and covered spouses) don't get an 'annual wellness checkup' by the end of the year we are going up another $1500.

There are three of us in the family, and my daughter sees the doctor about once a year, that is it for all of us, but I will be damned if I am not paying ~$500 a month for coverage. And I will be damned if I am caught without it.

It is an effing racket and it really burns me up even thinking about it, especially when certain portions of the population can just keep spitting out children to keep insurance.

I have coverage from BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee that I bought through the federal exchange. We'll see how much my rates go up when the time comes. Edited by btq96r

It will be fine. You know those money trees really put out when you feed them enough unicorn poop. :)

I believe it is this year where employer provided insurance begins to get taxed. Meaning the portion of the premium paid by your employer becomes taxable income.

When NPR brings in a guy to talk about how we can't sustain the program, throws him softball questions and offers no opposing view point...the income earning leftist are beginning to see their pockets get picked by the very policies they support or supported.

Folks, the looters want more of your money and they do not care what your political views are. The looters will pull us down to pull themselves up.

The looter driving the old Ford who wants and therefore needs a new Mercedes believes we should pay for it, since we've been lucky and have more than enough...

It is all about control. Once the government has control over your health they control. They can choose who will and will not receive the lifesaving card they need and slowly kill off the opposition.

BTW, you can still get great insurance that is also very affordable. Problem is they are not Obamacare approved and because of that you will have to pay the fine for not having insurance. But a premium of $100 a month and a $300 annual fine is still a lot cheaper than anything from the exchange and even cheaper if you actually have to use it.

My wife was quoted insurance for under $100 a month when the exchange was going to be $200+. The unapproved insurance had a much lower deductible and covered 80% versus 50% of Obamacare. And it also had very low co-pays and no lifetime limits. Obamacare is nothing more than a way to pander to his supporters. Not even those that support him say Obamacare is better for them.

Once everyone figures it out Obamacare will go from fining people to throwing them in jail. But how ironic will it be to get thrown in jail, and get free healthcare, for not having approved insurance.

This should come as to no suprise. If you paid attention when this was passed it was all explained in conservative circles. What wasn't expected is the line item law Chanel's by the destroyer.

The pols have given themselves a waiver of falling under the 500 or less employer status while their #'s are around 26k.

The ACA is designed to destroy private coverage, plain and simple.

If you think this is good wait till the TPP comes to fruition after it's secret words are kept from us all.

Me thinks we will be hard pressed to find an American with a job is several years. Foreigners are waived under ACA and the businesses will use them to stay in business.

Isn't this grand!

I believe that Obamacare was designed to fail. It was never intended to actually work. Once it failed, the next option would be universal care. The problem is that Obamacare started failing before it even got off the ground.

When government and business merge...

Insurance companies are in, millions of new customers and guaranteed stop - loss by the guv'mint.

Big Pharma is in, their biggest customer, guv'mint, agreed to pay wholesale +, whereas everywhere else in the world; guv'mint pays cost+.

Large employers with traditional lower hourly wage workers are in, cut the hours, hire more people and get a waiver.

Oh and at full steam, represents 16% of GDP...8-9 elsewhere in the world.

Unsustainable to say the least.

Worried about guv'mint controlling your health? What about your food? ADM and Monsanto are in the money making business and I'll bet they got a few lobbyists of their own cruising DC.

But but obama said we would save $2500 a year.

A large jet plane crashed on a farm in the middle of rural Tennessee.

Panic-stricken, the local sheriff mobilized and descended on the farm in force. By the time they got there, the aircraft was totally destroyed with only a burned hull left smoldering in a tree line that bordered the farm.

The sheriff and his men entered the smoking mess but could find no remains of anyone. They spotted the farmer plowing a field not too far away as if nothing had happened. They hurried over to the man’s tractor.

“Hank,” the sheriff yelled, panting and out of breath. “Did you see this terrible accident happen?”

“Yep. Sure did,” the farmer mumbled unconcerned, cutting off the tractor’s engine.

“Do you realize that that is Air Force One, the airplane of the President of the United States ?”

“Yep.”

“Were there any survivors?”

“Nope. They’s all kilt straight out,” the farmer answered. “I done buried them all myself. Took me most of the morning.”

“President Obama is dead?” the sheriff asked.

“Well,” the farmer grumbled, restarting his tractor. “He kept a-saying he wasn’t…

“But you know how bad that sumbitch lies.”

Not sure if it's my employer or the insurance company but preventative dental care (cleanings) will no longer be free. Just a small gripe but signifies a big change if ya ask me.
