Old Hickory Lake Bass Report

Help me out fellas, having a hard time hooking up. Catfish seems to be wearing out my minnow baits, but cant get one on a jug to save my life. Using whole live bluegill and Puchbait(CJ's shad).

A buddy and I make jigs and soft baits for a lot of the local anglers that fish Old Hickory Lake and the last two weeks have been tough on all the bass anglers. A few guys have picked up some Flipping Jigs with craws as trailers on wood on the main channel from Bledsoe Creek up river to the 231 bridge. A few folks have been catching fish on Shakey Heads with some of my Red Shad Bungee worms around outer weed edges from mouth of Sandy's Chapel down to the mouth of Bell Island. They are also taking a few on Buzz baits out on the river flats from Bull Creek up river early. Hope this helps and you have a great Memorial Day Weekend................. :usa:  :usa:  :up:

Thank you sir! I haven't flipped a shakey head out there yet, ill add this to the arsenal for next trip. Wont be going out tomorrow as I fear it will be tough fishing will all the boats on the water.

 

I find that crazy that people are catching in the main channel, I usually fish spencer creek but Misty cove boat ramp(under 231 bridge) is right next to my house so I've put in there a few times. I Don't even have a clue how to fish the main channel. The drop off seems so dramatic I have a hard time locating them. So Their fishing right up on the bank of the main channel, the shelves before the drop off?

 

You mentioned you make baits, whats your brand? I ran into a few guys the other day who where showing me their baits they made, powerhouse baits I believe it was called. They made punching rigs

Catching Bass on Pumpkin seed lizards in the bushes on Barkley. Water 2.5 foot deep and 76 degrees. On the beds for sure!
