Glock 27 shooting low and to the left

Any way to fix this? How much would a gunsmith charge? I thought the sights were supposed to be set from the factory. I had a couple of my friends using it, with the same results. At about 15 yards, shooting at an index card in the center of a sheet of notebook paper, it hits the lower left corner of the paper. I would like some suggestions, as this is going to be my carry gun.

Thanks,

Aaron

Is this your first time shooting a Glock or other DAO firearm? If so, then its probably you rather than the gun. The triggers take a bit to get used to. The first time I took out my XD I was shooting low and to the left, over time I overcame it and it shoots fine for me.

Low and to the left is a classic hallmark of flinching when you pull the trigger. A little proper instruction with the firearm is likely all you need.

Thanks for the tip, I don't think I flinch, I don't mind the recoil, but I will try to pay close attention next time I shoot. I shot the M9 in the Army, and the full size Glocks at my local shooting range, and hit dead on every time. I will try some dry fire drills to see how I do.

Actually, some Glocks just inherently have this problem, not caused by shooter error... which seems to be your case, as you've stated your other friends are having the same results when shooting the handgun. The factory slide lock on the Glocks can be the cause of this issue.

First, use a ransom rest or shooting rest to eliminate human error. See if your gun is still shooting off center.

As much as I hate to link you to the wasteland of stupidity that the GlockTalk forums have become... there is a thread over there that might help you. A user there, by the name of "TR Graham" manufactures and sells a match grade slide lock that has much tighter machine tolerances, and effectively locks up the barrel for better precision. It's only a $30 part and almost everyone that has purchased one and installed it swears that it fixed their aiming issues. In essence, it's the same principle as using a match grade link in a 1911 (to steal the words used by another user).

Here's the link. In it, you will find the contact info for Mr. Graham.

Hope it helps.

That part is actually the take down lever, and I recommend Graham's part any time you run an all-metal aftermarket guide rod. The guide rod slams the **** out of that part and the OEM ones tend to deform over time when using a metal guide rod.

Quality part. I had one on my Glock 27 and will put another in my 19 soon.

Thanks for all the info. I bookmarked that Glock part forum page, and will take my time shooting next weekend with these tips in mind.
