I currently own a Bersa 380 and a S&W sigma 9mm. I carry the 380 in a ankle holster as a backup. Nice little gun. when I took my CC class, its the one I qualified with. I haven't had any trouble with it so far and i've had it 8 or 9 yrs...

Thanks so much for all of the advice. We went looking for a gun on friday and we ended up going with the Kel-Tec P32. I was a lil worried at first with it being so small, but we went to shoot it on saturday. It shoots great and is VERY accurate. I might end up with something bigger at some point, but I'm happy with this for now ;)

One thing about the Bersa is the grip screws, they sometimes come loose, use a little dab of blue Loc-Tite and you will not have any problem and the screws are removeaable without damage.

My wifes only complaint was that it is too heavy for Purse Carry.

Now a Berretta Tomcat .32 is in the Purse and the Bersa is IWB on her hip.

That was before we sold all our guns so the democrats have none to confiscate from us.

Yeah, that's what I meant too. When we USED to have guns...;)

I have a BERSA Thunder .380 and love the feel and concept. I have found however, that it is both lube and ammo finicky. Different lubes don't seem to work and so far most of the ammo I put through it ends up with at least one FTF every range trip. Pretty gun, right size, but not terribly reliable in my experience. I have put over 500 rounds through it and still have problems with it feeding ball ammo. Hollowpoint has been a nightmare. Gun has been back and forth for work and still has serious reliability problems. It may very well be that I have a lemon, but my Bersa is a "Safe Queen" and a J-Frame Smith or Taurus 85 rides with me everyday.

As for the defense question, the 9mm and the .380 are the same-sized round. If you hit what you shoot at, either will suffice. I load FMJ for optimum penetration in my .380, and feel just fine about it:

That said, I'm going to have to shoot another 400-500 rounds through my Bersa cc -- when I get it back from warrany service -- to trust my good-shootin' little .380 again. It threw off the trigger disconnect three times in under 400 rounds. Just not reliable enough for self-defense for me! I insist that it fire every time I pull the trigger. Go figure, huh?

I have a Bersa Thunder .380 that I have put about 300 rounds throught it. After firing the last magazine, the decocker lever got stuck. I couldn't gert the lever to move. I have since stripped it, cleaned and lubed it. Now the decocker is just stiff but functions.

I have only owned this weapon "new" for less than a year. I would not recommend this weapon to any one. It is a POS to me.

It is now nothing but a "Safe Queen" and will stay that way. I am not very impressed wit the weapon or the company.

I have had several Bersas and now I only have one because I was sorry I got rid of all the rest heh heh. They are very fine guns and priced very well, only problem now is finding one! Bersatalk.com has a lot on info on the site if you can put up with the weirdos on it. BJ

I recently purchased a Kel-Tec PF-9 (9MM) since I already shoot 9MM, saves on two types of ammo. Took it to the range a couple days after purchase, fired well, not a tremendous amount of recoil, just hold on to it. Put in some JHP +P and holy crap!!! I thought the little gun was going to jump out of my hand, hurt my wrist, spit fire from the muzzle like a dragon - wow. I like it alot!

My fiancés father got the PF-9 and loves it also. For me, the trigger pull was too long so I wasn't able to shoot it. But it did great for him. Now my P-32 impressed me a lot. To be such a small gun, it sure is accurate.

I like my bersa (dual tone) I have shot Remington UMC,speer lawman, magtech and for self defense rounds I chose the Hornady Critical Defense. No problems yet, only about 75 rounds through it. Guess we'll she what happens after a couple hundred rounds, then she'll be stacked with the Hornady.
