Kayak fishing the Caney

Recommended Posts

Posted

Some friends and I are thinking about a trip this summer to fish the Caney Fork by kayak, and I'm looking for recommendations on outfitters. We'll need to rent kayaks, and we may be interested in hiring a guide.

So can anyone offer some suggestions? Would a guide be worthwhile, or should we just go it alone?

Thanks!

Keep tabs on the generation schedule, (tva app or the 800 number) they have been rolling so much water lately it's crazy. It's a great float and can be good fishing at times. Hopefully all the generating they've been doing hasn't affected the fish too much.

You can find several rental companies that have trips ranging from a few hours to a whole day, starting around $25 last I checked

The I40 E exit at 96 going to Center Hill Dam has a store before you get to the Dam where you can find out rental info and other info. Corner of 96 & 141 I think, can't miss it.
