Trip to San Diego, suggestions needed

If you have time, look into doing a sea kayak tour of the caves at La Jolla. Several outfitters in La Jolla for that. May be further out than you want to go though.

I was kidding about Tijuana. It's very much not safe there these days. I wouldn't go.

Thanks for all the suggestions! The zoo is definitely on the list. I hadn't heard about the USS Midway, but also haven't had a ton of time to do my own research on things to do.  Coronado was definitely also on the list.

As far as you guys having 31 year-old "old" information ... well let's just say your information is older than me!  :yuck:

33 yr old info, lets get it straight..

Mission beach would be a great place to go, its a short cab ride..

If your really adventurous you can rent a jet ski and cruise the harbor, I'd be really curious how close you could get to a sub..

I now what that distance is for a 26' fishing boat...

I read this this morning and didn’t comment because I think my info may be outdated. I went through boot camp and Machinist School there in 71/72. Things have probably changed. biggrin.gif

For myself it was MCRD for boot in 82, but I didn't see much from there. I returned to go to Nuclear Weapons Assembly training at Coronado North Island the following summer. I was a bit wilder in those days: I went to Black's Beach at La Jolla and got sunburned in places not meant to see the sun. :) It sucked wearing a wool uniform that week!

One couple who weren't 80 and made a living body painting. The beach was segmented into three with the north end being gay, middle family, and south being singles. I saw the most beautiful woman with a beautiful snatch. I was married and behaved myself. :)

There used to be An old guy that rode his bike on the beach there selling beers, a sight for sore eyes when you're out :/

There are some incredibly beautiful women there fer sure! Me an the old lady were leaving one time and came across a circle jerk, middle of the afternoon and they were over by the cliff in the rocks, there were two beautiful women in the center, funny stuff.

Another time we were hanging on the beach and this old dude came running from behind us to the water as fast as he could, looked like he saw a ghost. Once he was done freaking out I asked him what's the deal, he said he was there a week earlier and there was a rockslide, he was there then and two people were killed if I remember correctly. I promptly reminded him it would be courteous to tell others (like us) that rocks were falling and not leave us in the dust. Weirdo!
I think the weirdos hang close to the cliff. Edited by Still Ugly
