Picked this up just the other day, got the R&D 45 colt conversion cylinder as well.

Gona be a hoot to fire. Now to load up some Cowboy loads and have fun.

I have the same set up, it is fun to shoot.

Mike, do you reload for the 45 Colt and the cartage cylinder?

Sorry in advance for my ignorance... Is the conversion cylinder for traditional cap and ball?

Yes, it allows you to shoot center fire(primer) cartridge rounds. It has to be fitted to the frame, mine has been fitted.

Loads of some smoke less powder, Trail Boss comes to mind.

Cowboy rounds can be bought, but I reload so still looking for a powder to use.

Black powder can be used as well.

Just a warning make sure if you reload with black powder that you use a static free mat and ground yourself. Someone, I think Dave S. Had a black powder round they were loading blowup in their face from a static electricity charge. I didn't know it was so touchy until he posted that awhile back

I remember seeing that thread, believe me I am careful about the stuff.

The very reason I want to find a smokeless powder to load with.
