I'll wait until the crowds die down before going to the new Bass Pro. Someone told me they went on Thursday and the restaurant had a two hour wait.

Went on Mother's Day.  The size of the crowd reminded me of going to theme park.  Otherwise it is nice to finally have the Pyramid open again.  Plan on going back soon.

I went last week...it wasn't too busy at 7:30 on a Wednesday night....

It was ok...but I couldn't tell that it had anymore "gear" than the old bass pro in Bartlett....but a lot more "stuff" souvenirs and crap....

Overall, I was far from impressed...but it's close to home so, that's nice

I have had a Bass Pro Shop within 30 minutes of my house for about 15 years now and have been in it twice. Both times I was riding with someone else. I love to fish and Bass fished for the last 30+ years but if and when I spend money on fishing tackle I stay with the Mom and Pop small businesses when at all possible or order direct from a place like Tackle Warehouse. Now if your going because of firearms that may be different because I didn't look at them either time I was there. ............... :ugh:

I enjoyed my visit to the new Bass Pro! I highly recommend that you go on a weekday. I walked through the whole place. There is a cool duck hunting exhibit on the second floor. The elevator ride 25 floors up to the observation deck ( and bar)was worth the $10 to me. I was lucky to get a look at one of their hotel rooms and they are very nice! I hope to spend the night there one of these days. There is a restaurant and bowling alley. I really did not look at merchandise. The truth is if I was going just to shop I would go to the one in Bartlett. The new basspro is an attraction geared for tourists. That said, I liked it and I will be going back:)

P.S.

It's down town Memphis, so be aware of your surroundings! Don't leave a bunch of guns in your truck window in the rifle rack when you park! :)

That was pretty much my take as well. But living in Marion, AR, it's much closer to me than Bartlett. I drove by a few times on the weekend while going to or from work. It's been VERY busy by what I see from I40 but weekdays weren't bad. Edited by SixShooter14

All Bass Pros are great for browsing.  Occasionaly the clothes will go on sale for a good price.  However for the most part the place has a price premium...

Stopped by when it first opened. To diverse for my taste. Restaurant, lodging, thought I saw an arcade or bowling alley, restaurant.....
We were talking to one of the workers who said the lodging rooms were already booked out for a year. I don't get it. Nothing like sitting on the porch overlooking people shopping.

It's still worth a look if you've never been.

I thought the same thing...compare it to the Springfield, MO BPS and IMHO this one is rather pathetic. as far as retail sporting goods, it seems the pyramid doesn't have anymore variety than the Bartlett store...

Completly agree. Elevator ride to top, overlooking the River is worth the $10 admission price. It really shows how damn big and mean the River can be.

Parking, Might Rather park at LEO's house and take a cab. :) Sombodys automobile gets broken into darn near everyday.
