Opinions on this barrel?

Good barrel but a little on the heavy side. It should run subsonic bullets fine with a silencer or supersonics without a silencer. You will have to drill the port to get it to cycle with subsonic ammunition without a silencer. But other than that is should last a lifetime.

Just reread what you wrote. I won't be running subsonic without a silencer so that shouldn't be an issue. I can always drill it out one day if I want. Guess I will order it!

... Is nitride ok for a 300 blackout?

Note that "nitride" is generic term for trade mark named processes like Melonite, Tenifer, etc. Many espouse properly nitride treated barrels as superior to chrome lined.

Yeah I did read that last night. I guess it just worried me that it's a no name barrel even thouguh I know where it came from. Seems that PSA is good about finding suppliers around the Carolina's and I haven't had any bad luck with their stuff yet. I ordered it last night so I'll see what happens.

By heavy I mean profile wise but that is what keeps the cost down.

We are in a AR buyers market. Who would have ever thought AKs in general would be more expensive than ARs. Nowadays you can build an AR for $500 and buy them for $550 but AKs are generally more than that.

We have 18 months to buy as many "assault rifles" as possible before the next round of OMG the sky is falling when Hillary becomes the first female president.

You are absolutely right. That's why I am doing all of this. Not in panic mode but I know it's coming. I'll be buying plenty of powder and bullets soon as well.

I doubt I mind the little extra weight. Especially for the price. I'll also probably just find someone to drill/ream it out for me. Can't cost that much to do.
