Reflex sights on a shotgun?

I just ordered a saddle receiver mount for my winchester 1300. I have two barrels one rifled and one smooth. Not wanting to change out optics (it is drilled and tapped from winchester, but I'm not a fan of big honking scoped on a shotgun) from season to season, I'm contemplating a reflex sight to put on the saddle mount. I like they way that my eyes pick up the sight on them. But will they hold up to turkey loads and ruffled slugs?
Any thoughts or alternate ideas would be appreciated.

I've seen plenty of RMRs on shotguns.  While they aren't cheap by any means, they sure are tougher than nails and would make an awesome optic for shooting big ole toms!

Only the higher end models will hold up to 12ga heavy loads. Think Trijicon, as mentioned before, or Aimpoint. I don't know that I would trust anything else to handle the recoil. Maybe Eotech.

I'm not opposed to buying a quality optic. I've envisioned one of those sights on that gun for sometime now. I've had that gun since the mid 90's when companies first started the dipping on their guns. It's old school advantage cammo.
One sweet shootin shotgun!

Has anyone tried the Redfield Accelerator? It’s a spinoff of the Leupold DeltaPoint but only costs $180. (The DeltaPoint is $700)

The Eotech is not a reflex sight, but it’s a proven performer with customer support to back it up if there is a problem. I wouldn’t be worried about putting my XPS2 on a shotgun. Edited by DaveTN

Keep in mind that even something low like a Deltapoint/clone sitting on a saddle mount is going to be a lot higher than a bead or rifle sights.  You might need to add some height to your stock to get the cheek weld right.

I will keep that in mind. My mount is on route via usps. I'm going to wait till after turkey season to mount and find an optic. I need a durable one that is easily adjustable.

I use a Burris fastfire on my turkey hunting shotgun.

Now if you want it to be more of a shotgun "wing shooting" type sight, then Burris makes the Speed Bead mount for the fastfire.

I did smash one fastfire against a truck door when I dropped my gun. I called Burris about repairing it and they just sent me a replacement. Top notch service.
