I've decided on buying an MTAC IWB holster, mainly due to the folks on this board giving it such good reviews.

I tend to carry my Glock 26 in the 5 to 6 o'clock position... does anyone have any expeience with this holster carried in the small of the back posistion?

If you were going to carry SOB in an MTAC, I would think that you would want one made for the opposite hand. With I carry my Glock 23 too far back in the MTAC, it isn't the easiest to draw, but that could just be me.

I have the CTAC and I use to carry it at about 4 to 5 oClock, but have found it more comfortable and more concealable (less printing) at the 3 O clock position. Also, I wear shirts tucked in...alot due to work and I find it quicker to draw with it at 3 oclock due to having to reach with my left hand to untuck the shirt and grab the gun with my right.

In regards to SOB carry, I have hear people say it is not the best idea due to injury to tail bone, if you were to get shoved down or fall down and If you are in a fight for your life, the guy has jumped you and has you on your back, how can you get to your gun. Not saying it is wrong or right, never put that much thought into SOB carry just some thoughts that I have had on the technique.

I carry my G29 in an MTAC somewhere between the 4:00 and 5:00 positions, depending on which pants I'm wearing (position of the belt loops makes a difference). Since the MTAC is adjustable for height and cant, I cant it forward (front clip offset from rear clip by 2 screw holes) and let it ride pretty high. This setup works great for me, even while driving. I played around with full, 6:00 SOB carry, but there were just too many drawbacks for my tastes.

I carry SOB...but I dont use that holster...If you buy a right handed holster, You will need to "train" yourself to draw with the palm of your hand facing your back...not the most comfortable...

it is a little more natural to use a left handed holster, that way, the palm faces away during the draw, and it puts the handle closer to you...it also makes the draw itself easier.

you may want to get a cheap uncle mikes left and right, handed for 10 bucks and try it...

my 2 cents.

Yep, palm out MUCH easier for me w/ SOB.

I experimented quite a bit with this before giving it up. Certainly SOB and appendix are both very good ways to conceal, but I decided the drawbacks outweighed the concealment and wound up with 3:30-4:00 strong side, like majority of everyone else :)

I carry SOB with the MTAC holster, and it is very comfortable. I am a lefty, so I bought a right-handed holster. Driving is not an issue, it is comfortable.

I practice draw continually and can tell you my draw is clean and relatively quick. I can also position my draw hand behind my back easily without force detection. The only time I print is when reaching down (touching toes) so I take my environment into consideration when bending over. The MTAC is top notch in quality, you will enjoy carrying with it.

Well, another satisfied customer here... just came home from work to find my holster waiting for me. After fiddling around for a bit, I settled on about 5 o'clock position, it being the most comfortable.

The weight of my fully loaded 26 just seems to disappear... never thought I could be so comfortable carrying IWB. Well done to the folks Comp-Tac.
