Replacing Trigger 1911

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)
I am interested in replacing the stock trigger in my full size 1911. I don't think the actual install will be a problem but I am was looking at some from Wilson Combat with long, medium or short pads. Any idea how to figure out which one might fit my hands best before I order it?

Measure you present trigger and decide if you need more or less. I would call the company whose trigger you are looking at and ask them about fitment and length.

Tag. Tomorrow I will post the best trigger to use and give you my number to talk you through the install.

Curious as to what you consider the best?
No being condescending, genuinely interested, doesn't always translate in text. I have my own favorites(STI poly & 10-8flat).

This.

I know "long" triggers have been the rage for many years, but I prefer "medium" or shorter 1911 triggers (and I have pretty decent sized hands).

I had replaced (and put the original back in) the trigger on my Kimber with a Wilson Combat trigger because after replacement the gun would go full-auto for 2-3 rounds- randomly, not every time..  I figured it would be a simple drop-in type replacement part?

Any thoughts?
