It shows out of stock. I was looking at the flattop.

?? Which one? Far as I know there they don't make any Blackhawk flattops at all now? Last was a special edition 50th anniversary in '05?

Posey's in Cleveland just sold one...http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=478172378.  Maybe they have another.

Here are the other offerings on Gunbroker....http://www.gunbroker.com/All/BI.aspx?Keywords=ruger+5246

I'll stick with my original advice...get a Vaquero.  That flattop is uglier than a regular Blackhawk.  Did you know the Blackhawk grip frame is aluminum where that of the Vaquero is steel?  Better balance.

Looks like the convertible's grip frame is steel as well. Ruger seems to be pretty random about what they put it on.

Mines non magnetic for sure, just checked. The new ones might be steel but mine isn't. It's about maybe 2009-2011.

I'll throw in my .02 here and say I wish they would make a vaquero convertible already. That in mind the versatility of the BHC made it an easy choice for me. I would recommend getting a set of pachmayer grips not because you need the extra padding, but those grips are friggin tiny! Yes I know about tucking the pinky under to shoot, but I like having a grip that fits much better.

And yes Hipower, the 9mm and .38s are mouse farts out of one. :)

LOL The only reason I don't have several of the pistols is that I just don't care for the loading gate process. I have never really been able to adapt to it. But that's just me.

I do make the concession on the 45ACP because of the fun factor, and it gets a lot of looks on the range. I usually get guys who say the ACP model was never made, I must be shooting a 45LC...somehow.

But for a 9 and 38...not really sure whether I'd shell out the bucks for one.

Funny, first one I ever bought was a 45acp/45 colt convertible. Now for my big reveal.

Yes...it is a beautiful pistol.

Thank you. Hopefully I get to shoot it this weekend. It is smaller than I expected which was a nice surprise. As I said, I was torn between the stainless and blued. This one came in first and I'm extremely happy.

That's beautimous! And gorgeous grips! Having spent a couple years building sweet guitars, I've come to really appreciate nicely grained/colored woods. Those grips look really nice for factory pieces. Would you mind posting a pic of the other side, too? I'm always curious to see if grips match, haha!
