Free Alliant Powder 2015 Reloader's Guide

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I clicked on the Alliant website back several weeks ago looking up a recipe. As I was looking around I saw an offer for a free 2015 reloader's guide. I clicked on the offer and filled out the information. I had totally forgotten about this when it came in the mail today. Nice paperback book with handgun, shotgun and rifle loads for all the Alliant brand powders. This guide is much more information and gives a lot of detail the reloader's guide on the website does not provide. The site does allow a download of the booklet, but for me, this is easier to use as I can keep it on my bench and refer to it as needed. Just thought some of you guys might benefit from another reliable source for reloading recipes.

Always a good idea to include a link to the site in question.

Helpful to include the actual link

Note: the manual only shows max loads. Start load are a 10% reduction (i.e., multiply the max load by 0.90).

Note: the manual clearly shows that the COL (or OAL, as they call it) is the MINIMUM for the data shown.

The firearms industry continues to grow and advance in knowledge, specifically as in the methods used to determine chamber pressure of fired ammunition.  For this reason I always defer my loading techniques to the most recently published data from  known, reliable sources.  I also promote this concept to new handloaders and explain the basis for the recommendation.  I usually punctuate the discussion with this thought:  If you use older data that now has been found to be excessive for your firearm and caliber, your firearm could become a grenade when fired.  If it does, just WHO is going to be holding onto that firearm when it turns loose???"  This always gets folks attention.

Has anyone actually seen one?

Raoul,

Seems like it took about six weeks for mine to arrive. I literally had forgotten about it when it showed up in the mail.
