Hello all, Im new to Tennesee and moving to Hendersonville from so. Cal. I consider myself a refugee and excited to start exploring TN and everything it has to offer. I just retired after 30 yrs in L.E. in LA and love the outdoors such as hunting, fishing, boating, off roading....everything that is frowned upon in Cali! Lol. Ive been lurking on this site and finally joined as I make the move.

You're here just in time for turkey season and spring crappie fishing, welcome to TN.  For offroading check out Windrock Mountain/Coal Creek.

Had to leave my new place and go back to cali for a month or two to wrap things up here. Cant wait to get back to TN as we hated to leave. Funny when you fly back to LA and realize how ugly it is, its nice knowing you will be living somewhere else! You mention turkey season, one of the contractors that was doin some work for us is a bigtime turkey hunter and offered to teach me a thing or two as turkey is one of the things ive never hunted. We are deffinatly a four season family, boating, rhino, harley and outdoor stuff....everything TN has to offer

Congratulations on your escape and welcome to the great state of Tennessee.  Thank you for not complaining about our  10 cent per box tax on ammo (old story).  :D

I would also like to offer some advice. If you are going to Crappie fish or turkey hunt and you’ve been out there in Commie land for 30 years, please, for your safety and the safety of some of our harmless critters, educate or re-educate yourself on the species of snakes we have in the state.  You never know who you will be sharing a brush pile or tree stump with.

Welcome from a Ventura native who got his exit visa 19 years ago. If I ever go back, the Tennessee Highway Patrol will find ten bloody claw marks going west on I-40 'cause I ain't goin' easy!!  You'll love it here.
