Picked up a new tank memorabilia item

Ran across an old tungsten penetrator that was primarily used in the 105mm cannon (and shortly with the 120mm) on the M1A1.  These were used until they switched from a tungsten core to depleted uranium (more dense) for the combat rounds.  To deplete the stockpile, the army started using them as training rounds, but with the added velocity of the 120mm, the range they would travel if someone fired outside of the range markers was astronomical... So they switched to a round that replaced the stabilizing fins on the back with a cone to slow it down and reduce the range dramatically.  The cone rounds are easy to come by, but these are getting harder and harder to find as time passes.

Every time I pick up something like this it brings back all the memories from being on a tank, having both the best and worst times of my life at the same time.  Not sure what will be next on the list, but I'm always on the lookout.

They're available at +/- $3mil Johnny.

Vero, it's about 18-20" and roughly 10 pounds.

That's pretty cool. Where do you even start to find something like that for sale?

Some of the larger military surplus businesses have things you would never expect, and a bunch of them.

Yeah I do have access to them as well - looks like they have 155mm clusters (m483), the M110's, M2A1 & T77 inert projectiles.  Both used and new
