Exactly right Dolo, that constant touching and readjustment of ones handgun is a dead give away. I've come to the conclusion that some folks who CCW want to be noticed as much as some who blatantly OC for the attention it generates. Whether you OC or CCW leave it alone and don't touch it until you absolutely have to do so.

This is where a 19L is favored.

Sight radius of the 17 and grip length of a 19

Easy to do as well.

Nice job. I like the stippling. If you did this yourself you did a very good job. As much as I'd like to do mine, I like to trade way too often. I'm afraid chopping the grip and stipple on the gun might make the gun harder to market if I ever grew tired of it and wanted to sell or trade it. But I do applaud the practical nature of what has been done. My hands slip around in the summer when shooting my Glocks due to perspiration. My solution is usually a Talon grip or similar.

I'd love to know who did this work for you.  It looks very well done.

Every time I start to consider carrying my 1911s, I just pull out my G19, lay it on top of the 1911, count the rounds, then put the 1911 back in the safe.

And every time I look at the groups on my targets, I do exactly the opposite.

My two most accurate pistols (for me) are my Springfield 1911 and my CZ 75 compact. They are also my two heaviest. My Glocks and Rugers are great... but when I just want to marvel at how little paper I use, it's the 1911 and CZ.

I hear you....I love the way my TacOps shoots. It's the gun I bring when I want to impress people at the range. ;) But my Glock will drill the X on a standard silhouette out to 25 yards, I double my round count and my back thanks me at the end of the day. To each his own.

Glock 17 and Springfield 1911, pictured to show difference in length with end of slides and grips aligned. Clearly shows the Commander size of the 17.

I'm wondering, with magwell removed....the 1911 is only a hair taller. Grip angle is different, but they are about equal at the rear.
