carry question

Ok, I have been asked to help with my sons head start field trip tomorrow, my question is does this qualify as a school use situation (non carry) or since it's head start is it ok? BTW all of his teachers know I CC and don't have a problem with it as long as I leave it in the car when I have to enter the building.

Personally if I have to leave it in the car then it's not something I have to contemplate. The only decision is what to carry in case my car gets broken into and how expensive of a carry weapon I am willing to lose :(

Well the field trip is to Lowes, so not TOO worried about my car getting broken into. There's not a good chance of getting away with breaking into a car in that open parking lot, so it doesn't happen often, and my old beater 1986 model truck probably wouldn't be a high risk target lol.

Actually your vehicle could be more enticing because it won't look like it has an alarm on it.

ok, we got mixed responses from LEO because it was a private head start not a state run one, but for the "not wanting to take the chance of ending up on the 6 oclock news factor" because of some over protective liberal parent I left it in the truck.

Private vs public doesn't matter. What matters is whether or not it's a school event. IANAL, but I suspect it would hinge on exactly what it says in Head Start's incorporation documents, or if it's regulated by the state DOE, or some other something that might declare it a "school".
