I do. I have a Don Hume IWB and a Galco Open top. I carry at the 2 and 4. Not much difference than my Glock 19 or 220 Elite.

5", IWB in a Brommeland "MAX-CON V" from right here at CCA.

I carry a Taurus PT1911. The weight takes some getting used to but doable. I use either a belt slide or clip Bagmaster holster. The slide seems to hug the body more where as the clip seems to make the grip jut out slightly. I'm a lefty so its on my left hip and cocked forward just a bit. All in all, no problems.

I use a shoulder holster under a jacket. I have a don hume IWB holster for the thing, but, a full size 1911 is a beast IWB, imo. Its my nightly walk the dog piece.

I traded my pt1911 off for a .44 wheelgun, but its a nice weapon. I carried it off and on for a year. I like a little more, ummm, recess on the controls for a carry piece. But it'll do the job. I'm down to 1 1911. Whats the world coming too?

Make sure you have a good quality belt. It will really help to distribute the weight and to keep it wherever you decide to carry it.

No Wally World crap!

That really IS among the very best holsters made.

Trouble is, if you can't get the one you want at Coal Creek, you won't get one directly from Gary (Brommeland) for about 2 years!

They is spendy...maybe up to $185 or more, depending on model and grade.

The "service grade" holsters are $185 for both the Max-Con (IWB) and the Def-Con (OWB).

I might be inclined to give TGO discounts to those who might want to check them out.

I carry my Kimber Pro Carry II or my Springfeld 1911A1 in a Galco Combat Master at the 3:30 or 4:00 position on a belt I bought (I think) in a leather store in Pigeon Forge

Yeah, Galco and several others make good quality belts. I use a Justin belt as well.
