I use USAA for my CC and they insure my 4 cars, there a stand up fortune 500 company, been with them for 20yrs..

I use USAA for checking, savings, credit card, auto, renters & personal property insurance.  Never had any complaints.  Easy to use website, easier to get an actual person on the phone than any other bank I've ever seen.  Some people are turned off by the lack of a physical bank to go into, but I haven't needed it.

They also refund fees you get for using other banks ATM's up to $15 per month, which is great.  Anybody who is eligible to bank with them should give it a try.  They allow anybody who served in the armed forces, plus family members of those who served.

As far as simple savings or CDs, nobody beats online right now, not even in the ballpark.

Savings at 1.05% at GE Capitol Bank currently, my stash right now. Just need a checking account somewhere to shift bucks back and forth, preferably with net access to it of course.

None I've seen are posted either here in Nashville or in Knoxville.

If my wife did not work for Suntrust we would use USAA for sure. Someday there will be a best selling book about the shenanigans pulled by Regions. Before my wife went to work with Suntrust I had my account at a small bank, they sold my account to a small bank, and that bank sold out to Regions. I went in there to close my account, but they wanted to charge me like $25. I eventually closed it without having to pay, but damn were they a mess. There are no posted Suntrust unless they are within another posted buisness. There were some branches in hospitals, but I think they are all gone. Edited by Patton
