Finally getting everything moved up from Florida. Need a good bank. Considering Regions but a lot of bad reviews online. Any suggestions.

Thanks,

Mike

We like Suntrust, they're one of the few that are national in case we move, and have a nearby bank that's open on Saturday.

I use SunTrust for the same reason as above. I got my mortgage through them as well. Their rates were competitive with many other banks and credit unions, both regionally and nationally. I've been very happy with them.

If you ever have an opportunity to get in at Ascend Federal Credit Union, do it. That is where I bank. It is members only but very much worth it.

Regions honestly earned every crappy review they have been given. We ended up with an account with them after they bought the small local bank we were using. Put up with their nonsense for a year before we could get everything switched to TVA Credit Union. We are much happier with the service we get from them.

For C'sake, at least pick one that isn't openly anti-gun.

Find a local bank or credit union. Don't punish yourself with the terrible treatment of one of the nationals.

I have been using Suntrust for a little over a decade, they bought the bank that bought the bank that I was using some twenty years ago. I don't even have a local branch, they shut it down a couple of years ago, I do everything through direct deposit. They have taken care of me and haven't really caused me any hassle.

I do have a local Credit Union checking/savings through L&N as well though, but that is more about a local bank than not liking Suntrust.

Your profile says you were in the military, so I'd  ask you to strongly consider USAA.  They are hands down, the best bank I've ever dealt with.  The only complaint I've ever heard about them is they aren't the greatest at mortgage loans, but I can speak from experience that everything I've done with them is top notch.

thanks for the info gentlemen. Looks like Suntrust is going to be ut as I travel a lot so having a national is important. Usaa would be a good choice but I need a bank with a local office as well as a national footprint.

Regions has a pretty bad rep and I did not know they were anti gun. Good to know.

Find a credit union with an open field of membership and join.

When you travel do you need walk in branch service?

Credit unions "share" an ATM network and with online services offered by about everyone do you need to "pay" for a bank's branch network?

Military affiliation may qualify you to join Navy Federal (biggest CU in the country with a national footprint) Edited by Gotthegoods

I know it's not huge but check out Wilson Bank and Trust. www.wilsonbank.com

Since we moved here we have been with them. Very friendly.

In the Memphis area consider: Orion Federal Credit Union or for more of West TN area First State Bank.

1st State' a home office is Union City, TN. They have branches in many areas of West TN including Collierville.

Find a local credit union with shared branching and join it.  I've had accounts with Suntrust, BOA, and Regions and I wouldn't go back to any of them.  I just made a 200 mile move and the credit union that I'm a member of doesn't have any branches here but it's no big deal I can do my business with any credit union in their network.
