Road trip advice

I have to drive to the Harrisburg, PA area for business.  I don't want to grace the peoples republic of MD with my presence for obvious reasons.  I've looked at the maps, but can't decide on the best route.  Any advice?

http://goo.gl/maps/vVZEc avoids MD altogether and adds 1.5 hours to the default route up I-81.

Keep in mind that you'll only be in MD for a few miles at Hagerstown up I-81. It's up to you if avoiding that is worth 1.5 hours each way or not.

Driven that route to Carlisle,Pa for the car shows for the last 30 years.

Fuel up in VA and wave toward Antietam as you pass through MD

I've driven that exact same route since my fathers house is another 1.5 hours north of Harrisburg.   The part through Maryland goes by in about 20-25 minutes, and shouldn't be too bad traffic wise.  Not enough of a hassle to warrant a detour for me.

As an MD resident Maryland transport laws are actually about the same as the feds.  Keep the guns and Ammo apart.  I have been pulled over for a ticket for a few times and have never been asked if I had a weapon in the vehicle despite MD state knowing I have several Handguns and from what I can tell our NFA rules are actually better then TN.  There are Asshole Cops everywhere just remember MD doesn't allow CCW based on any permit other then there own permit.
