Remember this:

Obama himself downplayed the plot (of the supposed 'Neo-Nazis bent on killing him and other blacks) yesterday, saying there was no room for hate groups in America anymore.

What he means is, no hate groups that stand against him. And of course, hate groups are always defined as standing against anything. Christians, 2nd Amendment Proponents, etc. We are all in a 'hate group' of some sort.

Seriously, it is truly a shame that ancestors of black Americans were slaves. But it was wasn't near the tragedy as what happened to the American Indian.

Blacks voting for Obama is overplayed. Blacks have traditionally voted Democrat anyway. Why would anyone expect them to vote Republican now?

If Obama is to win it is not because of race. It will be because the Republicans put a really poor candidate on the ballot.

If Obama wins tonight Republicans need to learn from this and regroup as a political party. Find a good candidate who speaks for their people, nominate him and get him/her elected next time out.

Frankly the racism is turning my stomache. Dislike the platform, dislike the candidate, but dislike them for what they stand for, not the color of their skin.

Black Panthers and their antics are probably the least of the shenanigans going on this election day.

Here's my take on the whole issue of race in this election...

The progressives want us to get past seeing color. FINE. But they are supporting a candidate for whose campaign race IS an issue and has been an issue regardless of their superficial efforts to play it off as anything else. Officially they want you to believe that race has nothing to do with it. Unofficially they are laughing all the way to the White House because they know that somewhere north of 90% of black voters will be casting ballots for Obama just because he's "one of them".

Unfortunately for the black voter, quite a few of their "appointed leaders" in the black community (Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, etc.) have been exploiting racism for a long time now purely for their own selfish ends. Race has been and will be an issue until people really no longer see color of skin when they look at a person. And frankly, I doubt that is ever going to happen.

For proof, just look to the Middle East. For thousands of years, those people have been killing each other because of racism. Arab versus Jew, Sunni versus Shiite, Iraqi versus Iranian, and so forth. They have had far longer to come to terms with differences in skin color than we have had here in the United States. You would therefore think that if the human mind was capable of divesting itself of color-perception, it would have happened by now. But it hasn't.

Racism is alive and well no matter how deplorable it is. Yes, black Americans were victims of discrimination in the past. It is a historical fact and cannot be argued against. BUT... the majority of that took place several generations ago and not at the hand of any who are left alive today, yet the spirit of hate is being kept alive by those who harbor it. Reparations? Official apologies by white Senators for things done years and years and years ago by people I'm not even related to? Really? What does that accomplish other than fuel the fire and keep hate and resentment alive?

The concept of "reverse racism" has sadly become true. It's hard for me to believe anymore that a person offering peace with an outstretched hand really means it when his other hand is clenched in a fist, drawn back to strike.

Don't let the TV coverage give you the impression that those leaders were appointed by anyone, nor should you believe that they represent the majority of ANY ethnic group. They are self-appointed. They only choose easy and sensational cases that grab headlines and avoid any issues that would make "real" change for people. And if you sit down and talk to any educated black person or group of black people, you'll find that they are probably as critical about them as you are. Even the most radical extremist will find a crowd of cheering fans and guess where the camera is always pointed.

When you have this conversation, mention reparations and apologies. I bet you'll get plenty of laughter. Nobody in their right mind really expects these things or feels that they have a right to them. The only "leaders" who advertise this crap are people who feel they haven't been quoted enough this year. It's too bad that the only thing that makes news are the fringe element. Violent criminals and media whores. None of whom represent the vast majority of Americans (of ANY color) who just want to live in peace with their neighbors and have a little extra money in their bank account.

well..that SO won't be a problem! I have a feeling that after Obama gets done ruining the economy with his foo foo economic policys that people will RUN to the republicans. Remember when Jimmy Carter was in office? triple digit inflation, The Iranian hostage crisis..Carter was a spineless idiot who hid his ineptitude behind his yammerings about being "a good christian".

Marxism and Islam are not racial characteristics. If it is bigotry to defend against someone who wants you either dead or enslaved, then I'm a bigot.

The race card was played as cover, and only those blinded by self-interest or a desire for political correctness can't see that.

I've been a fan of former Congressman Watts for some time now. Christian, Conservative, good track record. He was actually brought up on more than one occasion leading up to the 2004 elections as being a prime VP replacement for Dick Cheney were Cheney to have ceded his position to someone else for W's second term. He was also mentioned as a good VP pick for McCain prior to the choice of Sarah Palin.
