My first Mosin-Nagant Model 1944

I recently picked up a 91/30 from a fellow TGO member. I can attest that it has some very noticeable recoil as well. That being said, I'm not much of a magnum guy. It may be the difference in stock shape or something else, but it definitely is less enjoyable to shoot than a standard weight Model 70 Winchester in 30-06.

 

A 22 lr it's not.

Ten rounds yesterday, and you can see clearly from my shoulder the shape of the buttplate in purple.

That's why you get a Caldwell/PAST recoil shield/pad and keep on shooting...and then you won't get a purple buttplate mark on your shoulder. [emoji106]
