Affordable 30-30.

Not that I am aware of. I have a 30/30 and a .270 that I fight this battle with. You are going to have to have a military caliber in order to by in quantity. Or just reload.

Is there a cheaper source for buying 30-30 other than 20rd boxes at walmart or wherever?

I would like to find some too. I really like to shoot my 30-30 but don't very often because of the cost. I know, reload. I have a lot of the gear, just don't have time.

Academy's Monarch brand of ammo generally runs a little less expensive than other brands.  I have a couple of boxes of their 30-30 ammo but have not shot it, yet.  I have fired some of their ammo in .380, 9mm Luger and 9mm Makarov (and maybe some .38 Special) all with satisfactory results.  I have heard that Prvi Partizan makes a lot of the Monarch ammo.  I like that I can just walk in to Academy and buy as much or as little as I want.  Generally, although I have ordered some things online, I prefer to buy in a brick and mortar location where I can have the product in hand when I pay for it.  They appear to offer 150 grain and 170 grain, both in flat soft point.

You can buy the Monarch ammo that is made by Prvi Partizan at Academy for 14 dollars.  It seems to be pretty good ammo.  I have no idea if the bullets are any good on deer.  You can spend 2 dollars more a box and buy Remington Core lokt or Winchester power point at Academy.

Garufa already posted the answer that I was going to give. Buy enough of whatever caliber you need at one time from AIM and the shipping cost will be no more than the tax you'd pay per box anyway.

Only if the business is located or has a store in TN

But of course you will voluntarily pay it as per TN law as do we all, right? ;)
