Monarch/Prvi Hunting Rifle Ammo

Anyone use Monarch ammo to deer hunt with?  It is sold by Academy Sports and made by Prvi Partizan in Serbia.  The ammo is priced right, is brass cased, and soft point.  It is a couple of bucks a box cheaper than Winchester Core Lokts and Winchester Power Point at Academy.

I use Privi for practice rounds in my .375 H&H. They always go boom.

Haven't shot Monarch though.

I bought quite a bit of soft point PRVI in 22-250 and 25-06 and have been pretty impressed with it.  It has provided very good accuracy and I wouldn't hesitate to use it hunting if needed.

I've used Prvi in 7x57.  It's a little hotter loaded than US ammo.

I've been happy with the Monarch branded stuff in every caliber EXCEPT .270 Win. In both my Marlin XL7 and a Remington 7400 I had, it patterned more than grouped at 100 yds. I'm not a great shot, usually getting around 1-2.25" 5 shot groups with cheap Federal and Remington SP rounds. I couldn't bring them any tighter than about 2.5" with the Monarch. I burned through the 3 boxes I had and just won't bother with it in that caliber any more.

I can still find Federal 150gr SP at Wally for $14.74/box, $1.25 cheaper than the Monarch at Academy. I'll continue to stock up on that until the price goes up. When it eventually does, I hope to have about a lifetime (or 3) supply of the stuff anyway. I can't imagine I'd really need another bullet for anything I'd use a 270 to do.

Wal Mart unfortunately does not have much ammo in the Memphis area.  Academy has a much better selection than Wal Mart and is cheaper than Bass Pro.  Wal Mart just has shotgun shells in stock.  I about gave up a long time ago on buying ammo at Wal Mart.  The Monarch ammo at Academy is a couple bucks cheaper than Remington or Winchester.
