ARES ARMOR Acquired by IL Holding Co.

ARES Armor has been bought by a holding co based out of ILLINOIS. ARES was owned by a former marine that had battled downrange including battling w numerous entities here in the US. Ares always had good deals on AR parts and 80% lowers. Well see where this goes!especially when bought by a IL based co....

I think you need to spend some time in IL anywhere but Chicago.  I think you will find that outside of 30 miles around Chicago proper, IL is as conservative as TN.  Yeah, someone will complain about their gun laws, and carry, blah , blah, blah.  

 

Being bought by an IL company is not a concern.   I don't know what was paid for it, but companies don't buy other companies to lose money.   I just get bored of the "if it has anything to do with IL, it must be bad" comments.  85% of the geographic area in IL are gun loving hunters and shooters.  It just sucks that the other 15% comprises 60% of the population. It's a Chicago issue, not an IL issue.   I guess because I am from IL and know many people who are as conservative as anyone here that I get a bit annoyed by it.  A lot of it is deserved, but the same could be said about Nashville and Memphis, luckily they don't have the majority.

It surprised me because the owner of ares has been going in circles w atf. Nothing against illinois except they have laws so tight,who would buy a company that's battling atf while they have local backyard demons to deal with...I like Illinois myself, its just the business decision that's surprising...

Illinois reminds me of New York. Get 30 miles into rural areas of "liberal" states and my guess is folks are normal. It's the population density of the cities that drive the agendas for the entire state.

There are lots of firearms companies in IL, Springfield Armory being I guess the largest.
