I'll be starting another part time job in not the best of an area in Nashville, Tuesday. I applied on the 25th or the 27th of march, however, I was approved by the TBI this past Wednesday and now just waiting on the mail.

My son who is in the armed services got his in about 8 days. Mine arrived about a week later.

Renewed for a lifetime on March 17th. Still no permit after 6 weeks.

Paperwork at DL center and fingerprints were May 11. Received permit in mail today. So that's 7 business days or 11 calendar days. I was happily surprised.

DL center guy said to contact if it's been longer than either 60 or 90 days (forget which).

After waiting 6 weeks, I called. Got it one week later.

New to TN. just got stationed here, US Army Reserve (active duty) I Applied NOV 27, fingerprinted the same day. I hope my process go quickly!

I got mine in about 8 days.

Renewed at the DMV on 11 Dec. New permit in my mailbox 17 Dec.

Took class on Saturday 12/8.   DMV  12/10.  Prints 12/11.   License rec'd  Tuesday 12/18.

Alright guys. This is for the people wanting to know the status of their application on their handgun permit. If you go to https://dl.safety.tn.gov/_/ and put in your last name, DL, SSN, and Bday it will log you in. In the middle column you can check your handgun license. There should be an option to renew etc. Checking your status is an option. Very simple one sentence of Your application is approved, and your card should be in the mail no more than 10 days.

Q2. What is the actual wait time? Answer: Varies
