Nashville guns???

Guns and Leather is always worth a stop, a bit outside of Nashville, but worth the trip. Nashville Armory has some cool stuff including machine gun rentals on their range ($$$). A bit farther away but worth the trip if you have time is Outpost Armory.

franklin gun shop has an extensive inventory, or did for years anyway. I haven't been in in a year or more since  I find the service lacking and the pricing bordering on stupid, but it for a place to kill some time and check out some guns you could do worse.

Went to Nashville Armory. Big and nice but mostly seemed like m&p's. Probably just my perception but appeared to be geared toward police and tactical stuff. Nice store though...strange little road to get there but I'm glad I went. Thanks for the replies. B

The Nashville Armory is top notch my friend! I would also recommend Guns & Leather in addition to the Franklin Gun Shop (albeit they are closed on Monday's).

Yea, Franklin guns if you want to pay about $100.00 more for a gun than many other stores..........

Franklin Gun Shop has one of the largest and most varied selections of guns including high end sporting clay, trap, & sporting and benchrest rifles and countless pistols. I like the place but for some reason it seems to create strong opinions of people who have been their both good and bad. It's big and packed and worth a visit.

It's been a long while since I was there, probably 7 years. I went 2-3 times back then over several months. My impressions were:

- just average size retail space, far from a high volume shop but not a tiny single counter either. Maybe a dozen glass cases and several walls full of long gun racks, the rest metal shelving with accessories. So overall selection just average. Now if size and selection alone turn you on, try Gander Mountain in Mt Juliet.

- staff were available if I needed help but I never asked for anything, and they didn't approach me. It was slow each time, maybe 2-3 people shopping other than me (mix of weekday and weekend visits).

- the prices were OUTRAGEOUS, so much higher than any other gun shop I'd ever been in. So much of a shock that I was left with the impression that they must be catering to a wealthy clientele that doesn't ever shop around to compare prices, and they were blatantly gouging folks on many items.

It was because of point #3 that I left and never went back. Perhaps they have expanded and dropped their prices since then, but nearly all reviews I've ever seen about the place continue to give the same impression, so I don't plan to go back unless new evidence surfaces to warrant a long drive (doubtful). Nashville Gun and Knife over in Belle Meade/West Meade has some beautiful shotguns (and Chris Reeves knives!  - almost don't want to tell anyone). ... and a very friendly, down to earth staff.  I am glad to call them my neighborhood store.

^ All this exactly except I have asked for help there. You'd think with prices like that you could expect some decent CS.

Nope.
