H110 lil gun replacements

what alternatives have any of you found for these 2 powders, I have read that lil gun can run hotter heat wise vs the H110 powder, but my problem is that I cant find any local and cant realy afford a 5 or 8 pound jug at this time. I have a couple pounds of 4227 but have a need for something faster so that I can load some of lehigh 110 controlled chaos. Some have said that I can run it fast enough with 4227 others have indicated that I need to go with h110. and before I forget this for running 300blk in both a 10 inch pistola and and standard carbin thanks in advance,

I have been on the look out for the w296 as well, I am told that it looks identicle to h110 but that cannot be found either, so the search continues.

Not just looks identical, IS identical.

I wonder if Dolomite ever tested the Surplus Pistol Powder that David is, or was, selling with the .300 BLK. He may still have some. Edited by Clod Stomper

Aa1680 will also make for a suitable supersonic replacement. I will interject with a lesson learned about running full house supers(lee 312-155 over 16grs) with pistol length gas and Lil Gun, after about 8k I burned up the gas tube at the port inside the gas block. This eventually turned my gun into a single shot. Replaced gas tube and good to go. Not sure if it's the heat generated or chemical composition or both. Edited by Jct1911

Thanks all for the info, Dolo what I had been seeing in the reloading manual was that I would reach the same fps with a lower charge using 110 or lil gun, and I never load to max capacity.  With the ability to have a lighter load with the fps veloctiy being the same and sometimes a little better than I would get with 4227 I was thinking that I would be a little more on the safe side.  David I had not noticed any postings of availability of powders lately so want sure if you would have any, as I mentioned above I cannot aford a large tub but will give a call and see if you are in town or when I can get together with you to pick up a pound or 2 if you have them in 1 pound bottles.

Thanks again everyone for all the input.
