Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking about getting a Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24 TMCQ MOA scope ( http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/vortex-viper-pst-1-4x24-riflescope-with-tmcq-moa-reticle )for my AR. I will use it for 3gun and coyote hunting. Has anyone had any issues with this scope?

I'm a little confused though... There appears to be two models of the same one. I have seen it with a rubber magnification ring and a metal magnification ring. Is one a newer version? I will order it from Cabelas since I have store credit there, but their website shows a pic with the rubber ring. Vortex's site shows it with a metal one. If the ring is the only difference, then I'm fine with it. I just don't want to pay new price for an older model or something.

Sadly, I can't answer the mag ring piece, but I have a Viper PST 2.5-10x44 that I am really impressed with.  Great glass, good reticle, precise clicks, and it has ridden a SCAR 17 308, and AR-10, and a Remington 700 in 300 Win Mag holding zero on all three.

Thanks. That's good that Vortex holds up so well. I was impressed with the quality of the PST last time I held one at my LGS. I've had a Sparc on my AR for a couple years with no issues. I

Ive got a vortex pst, no rubber ring,1X4 for 3 gun, its great out to 500 yards, its rugged, durable, glass is nice, holds zero pretty darn good. i paid about 425 for the one im running. HTH

I'm looking forward to getting it. Mine will see some 3gun action, too. Should be delivered tomorrow. Did you put Butler Creek covers on it or something else?

ive owned one for the last 2 years.  it replaced a Nikon m223 that couldn't hold a zero.  No complaints with the vortex yet.  I have the MIL/LE rebate form.  PM me with your email address and i'll send it to you.  I believe the discount is 35%
