Vortex Razor Gen II scope reticle questions

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hello, I'm building a new AR and looking at optics for it.  Mostly I just shoot at my farm, cans, plates and such.  Sometimes we get out to longer distances as I'm able to cut new shooting lanes.  I'm looking at the Vortex scope, and wondering about ya'lls thoughts on the reticle options.  They have a MRAD, MOA and JM-1 options.  Most of the ammo I shoot is the 55gr M193 stuff.  Does this make the MOA reticle a better option for me?

Thanks for any thoughts and opinions...

MRAD. Easier maths, right? I like the reticle more too.

If you like the metric system and are more used to using meters go with the mrad. If you prefer using yardage go with the moa. Personally I'd pick either over the jm1, but that's just me.

Have you checked the prices on the Razor? Kinda pricey for a scope to just shoot cans and plates.

The JM-1 is all the rage with 3 guns and you might could visit a match or 2 and get to look through or even shoot an AR with one on it.
