Frankford Arsenal Case Trimmer and Prep Center

Recommended Posts

Anyone else used one of these yet?

I ordered one last week, used it several hours today and very happy.

I was debating which trimmer to go with, was looking at the Giraud and WFT but the cost was considerably more. I wanted an easier case prep solution as well and this center fits all my needs.

The trimmer indexes on the case shoulder. It is fairly simple to adjust and switch calibers.
3 motorized attachment points for various prep tools - comes with chamfer, debut, and primer pocket cleaner tools.

I went through and prepped few hundred pieces of brass today. Very smooth, much easier and quicker than by hand. The brass was already trimmed, but I messed around trimming a few pieces of brass to test adjustment and everything - no problems, very consistent lengths on my test brass.

I will try to get some pics and a better review later in the week, maybe even a video. My only complaint, if you want to call it that, is the storage compartment is difficult to pry open - I need to sand the latch lightly I think.

I have one and so far have only used it with 300blk, when prepping that brass it is a little tough due to the brass itself being so short.  I have worked out a solution for the problem and it works well.  I also have been using the cutting blade made for the Hornady tools, it works just as well and is interchangable.  I have found it to be quick and efficient with the only draw back being the brass trimmings collecting in the collet, but I probably generate more shavings than the average person would as I go from cutting down ar brass down to 300blk then straight to the trimmer and deburing.  I also happened to look at midsouths website at the right time when they had dropped the price way down on them and the wet tumbler that compliments the trimming station so I got them super cheap.

I'm waiting on my new Rockchucker to arrive (should be Wednesday), then I have a bunch of brass to resize and trim.

With my test pieces I did not have an issue with brass collecting in the trimmer collet. My setup is adjusted so the trimmer opening is down and any brass trimmings can fall onto the cookie sheet I placed under for easy cleanup.

The brass collecting is not a big problem but does occure due to the fact that so much is left after being trimmed once I cut down a 223 to 300blk. Others have positioned there striaght up and down or on its side. there are other who discuss it over on 300blk website and of course utube.
