chances are, it just needs to be broken in. My EMP was the same way...it was kind of a pain, with issues and I was upset...then I started working on it...just shooting it more..and it came together and now it shoots perfectly.

I'm not sure getting hit in the face/head with ejected shells would have gotten better with just running more rounds through the EMP. Totally turned my wife off to the pistol. Can't say I blame her with that hot one getting caught between my glasses and eyelid.

Maybe it's a Springfield thing? My GI Champion used to throw shells the same way.

Oh yea, forgot about the burn!! I still have a little bit of a scar on the side of my nose where a .40 case landed, getting wedged behind my glasses. Ouch!

I do too! let us know how the PDA works out after it s broken in!

Well, it's getting there. Put 300 rounds through it today, and the last 100 or so I was able to get full magazines through it without FTFs, FTEs, etc etc. Even got the slide to lock back a couple of times. It was definitely getting better the more I shot it.

It's also reaaaalllly particular about your grip etc. Any sign of weakness whatsoever and it starts acting up. Again, I think this may go away as it continues to break it.

I put all 300 rounds onto one bullseye target, which was pretty shot out when I was done. But there were LOTS of tight little groups, so the accuracy seems pretty good. I wasn't really trying to worry about where I was hitting, I was mostly just interested in function testing today.

It needs a good cleaning now. :D

pretty much EVERY compact automatic has that particular problem..it will teach you how to pick up your weapon correctly every time though!

limp wristing will make problems for you too.

these things will pass the more you shoot it.

hang in there!

Well, put another 150 rounds of Blazer and half a box of Hornady TAP through the Para today. I think I can say it's now broken in. It just really wants to be gripped up high and it's happy. Nice pistol and a pleasure to shoot. That LDA trigger is sublime. :tinfoil:

Not to say I told yall so Para Haters all a Para needs is strong grip. I own 6 of them. I shot 2 to 4 hundred rounds every weekend. Trust me. Even my grip gets weak about round 370 or so.

+1 on the Paras needing a tight grip.

My Warthog was the same way. It would eat anything as long as you showed it who was boss and held on tight. The cheap little Pearce wrap around grip helped a lot for other people I let shoot it.

Thats a great thing to know guys! I guess many of the failures that folks have could probably be attributed to their grip...(there aren't that many FTF's and such...but that's something to remember when someone reports it as a problem..)

Hex, I'm glad that you're diggin on your new pistol! :D

M&P 40c - try it she will like it

She looked at the M&P 9 and didn't like the way it felt in her hand. Also was still a little large for her to carry. She likes shooting 9mm, and I've had a .40, hated the round and wouldn't buy another pistol chambered for it.

Cleaned it up today before I give it to my wife tomorrow, figured it was a good time for a pic. :D
