Took a look at the crime log on the Tenneseans website...kind of depressing when I live in a "good" neighborhood. Lots of nonresidential burglaries...but that's stuff a no good thief walking around.

yup, I get a daily email from the MPD called "Cyber Watch" Shows what's happened in a 1 min radius from my home.

Not as bad as your list, but still. The email also contains a list of sex offenders in your area and any warrants issued for people in your area.

I subscribe to the cyberwatch as well. They will ever so often have an alert, for a BOLO or other stuff. I have only seen a BOLO on it.

I live in South Nashville and I am on my councilman's list to forward the crime list that the South Precinct sends out most every day. It is surprising how much goes on that the media doesn't cover. I can see the TV news because they are limited by time but it seems that the paper would do a better job of at least listing these reports.

Any of you in Nashville should call your councilperson and ask to getbthese reports. If I am not mistaken they all get them from whichever precinct that covers their district.

Other than 3 murders in my neighborhood in the last 18 years it has been pretty calm. They were nasty killings though,a baseball bat,a claw hammer and a frying pan(that guy served 8 years, got out, remarried and killed his wife, his newborn child and step daughter).

Most people would be shocked at what's happening / what's in their neighborhood.

"No I don't carry a gun...it's pretty quiet around here."

Then when something happens (violence or property crime), "That sort of thing just doesn't happen around here." :hat:

Gotta love those quotes from the paper...right up there with.."they seemed so nice, quiet and friendly." Then you get the strange looks when your carrying, like YOUR the criminal....people are goofy.

That reminds me, I used to live about 5 miles away from Jeffrey Dahmer during his heyday.

Glad I dig chicks...

Can't remember,he was living in Hixson when he killed his family. My brother worked it I'll ask him.He shattered the skillet in the first murder. The ball bat was two doors away.Homicide has followed me my entire life, hence the reason I carry. When I was 13 our next door neighbor killed his son with a shotgun and back in 85 my brother and I witnessed a man killed with a shotgun in Fla.People who say birdshot won't stop someone are wrong.I think these killings were the reason my brother got into LE.

I checked the sex offender registry for my neighborhood, out to 1 mile, IIRC. One "man" roughly three hundred yards away, seven counts of statutory rape, another 500 yards away with three of the same. Nine with sexual battery and one with possession of child pornography. Lovely.

Not too much happens in my hood, of course we are no where near maximum population density. The Bread Box store about ten minutes from here seems to have something happen fairly regularly.

There is a big deterrent just a few minutes in the other direction though, a good reminder of what to expect. County Jail sits just around the corner, LOL With that there are cops up and down the road I am off of all the time.

Daniel why do you live there? High roller like you ought to find a nicer place.

We thought it was a nice place, centrally located for Kat's colleges, West Knoxville, etc. We didn't drive around the place at 2:00 a.m. is the problem. Kat wants to move out of town, actually out of state. Originally she wanted to move to Oregon, but I had her check the weather channel. Now its either Ohio, Montana, and maybe Missouri.
