Posting C&Rs in the classifieds with possible modifications

I have a few older revolvers that I am thinking about trading/selling in the classifieds. I am no expert on older firearms. I have compared several examples of similar age and think there may be some later modifications to some of them. Barrels exchanged, parts re blued, grips changed, etc. I have also read on the internet about them for what its worth.

I want to give real and as accurate information about them as possible.

Should I include information that I think is true, list it for prospective buyers to research it, just include a basic description with good pics, or ?

I think it's always best to provide as much information as possible when selling any item.  If there are some things that are speculative just say so.

Either way would work. Personally, the more forthcoming you are with information, the more likely I am to purchase from you.

I try to tell all and let the chips fall where they may. I'd rather lose a buck or two than to sell someone something and later find out they weren't happy or felt misled. A man's reputation is worth something.

If I were to be making a deal and setup a meet only t ofind out a potentially collectable gun had been re-barreled, I would most likely walk unless the seller seemed to be the kind of guy receptive to bad news and low offers. If I new what i was getting into ahead of time however, no harm no foul. One of my favorite guns right now is an "issue" gun, S&W Victory model reamed out to .38 special and given a nickel finish.

Give as much info in the listing as possible and include pics where you can, if you need more info yourself on something I'd bet you could find the answers here before or even while the gun is being sold.

Now, you really had my attention at old issues revolvers, shoot me a PM and I MIGHT be able to save you the time of posting them ;)

I think that last paragraph probably sums up where TrickyNicky came up with his forum name. [emoji6]

Yes you did! what you count as an issue and what I count as a qwerk are about on the same page  you have some beautiful stuff for sale, out of my range for now though. GLWS and to the future buyers, I'm jealous.
