Incredible story.  I've been to the WWII Museum in New Orleans a few times.  It is absolutely spectacular and I highly recommend it to anyone traveling that direction.

WW2 documentaries must have triggered a lot more recognitions over the years than had ever dawned on me. I also posted this news link on the CMP site and one fellow shared this ...

"twenty years ago while watching a documentary on Okinawa my father scared me when he loudly said'''''Hey that's Moe Myers my squad leader.""" Before my dad arrived as a replacement, after the battle, he knew his squad leader had helped evacuate some natives after a battle. The footage was him carrying a child down a road only a few seconds."

Thanks for the post. My wife's only remaining uncle lives in Huntsville, Al. and is a WWII vet he is 89 and gets around pretty good. I would love to take him to this museum, we lived about 100 miles from N.O. but never took the time to go see it.Thanks to all our vets, we wouldn't have this great country without them!!
