TX Sheriff Rattles Judge, Sheeple with Self-Protection Warning

I remember hearing the same thing from another police chief in a large urban area (Detroit maybe?).

My interpretation? "We need more money. You better give it to us or you're on your own. ". It's a scare tactic. Evidenced by the statement from the woman at the end who doesn't own a gun.

Yes, but he’s saying it because he can’t get what he wants. Usually when an elected officials says they can’t do their job; a replacement is found. Maybe it will be different for him.

Even if it's a scare tactic the message is true. The police is not responsible for your safety or my safety. I think we can all agree on that.

Personally, I'd much rather have the Sheriff say this than tell us "there is no reason to go out and buy a gun."

Maybe he wants more funds but he is right in what he said.

From the article:

“The fact that he’s telling us that we have to protect ourselves is kind of scary,” she said. “I don’t know how to shoot a weapon. I don’t own a weapon.”

The woman is naive to even think that police will always protect you from a violent attack, they will however take photo's of your body when they get their. She needs to go out any buy a gun and learn how to use it properly if she's scared that police can't always protect you, "YOU" are the first line of defense.

The sheriff is simply restating the truth about gun ownership. "When seconds count the police are just minutes away." Nothing like being too late to help. Be prepared like a good scout. If you won't protect yourself why should someone else?

David Clarke, Sheriff of Milwaukee County said the same thing a year ago. He's a true patriot who might get on the national scene before long.

Regardless of whether this Sheriff's comments were politically charged, at least it's a truth that is coming from another trusted public figure. Beats the old tired mantra that we need less guns.
