Glock 42

Anyone seen a Glock 42 in the Knoxville area at a decent price? I am thinking of picking one up for the wife to try and I'm leaning toward brand new since the used ones aren't cheap yet and I think there have been some minor changes (at least to mags, maybe more) to make them less ammo sensitivitie.

Bud's gun shop in Sevierville had some for $399 when I was over there before Christmas.  Not sure if they were on sale or not though.

I have talked to 3 people who own them and seem to like them.  I do know there was a revision to the magazines, otherwise, I think they seem to be solid.  Don't know if they are "eat any and every ammo" Glock 17 reliable, but according to an officer I spoke to yesterday it works flawlessly for him.  I have heard, however, that they won't function well with Buffalo Bore.

I bought one used just because it was cheap ( he needed some extra money for a trip ) and I was collecting Glocks . He shot it some at my house after he got it new and it seemed to do fine most of the time . It seemed like it did not want to fully lock up a few time with S&B ammo . Other ammo worked fine . After I got it I took it apart and it does have the updated parts in it , build date is May 2014 . I have not yet fired it but there seems to be a bunch who are having problems . I just have plenty of carry guns and not a fan of the 380 . If I got one and was going to depend on it , I would make sure what ammo worked and stick with it.

Glock does seem to have a good warranty . I know that no one wants to buy a new gun and then send it to be repaired . I just sent them a magazine that split up the side and in about a week a new came FED EX.

Today I finally got to the range with the G42 I traded for last Saturday. It was produced last fall and has the updated magazines. Today I ran wwb flat-nosed fmj, Remington fmj, Federal fmj, Hornady Critical Defense JHP, and Winchester PDX1 JHP through it. No problems cycling anything. It is the softest shooting small pistol I have fired. Feels more like my G17 than my LCP. I will take the wife to the range with it next week as it is "her" gun. Edited by JReedEsq
