Gun Show - Nashville Fair Grounds

Went to both the gun show and the fishing expo today.

... the fishing expo was "more fruitful".   I did buy some stripper clips for cheap at the gun show.

On a side note, apparently I will never be a 1911 man.  I can't reach the *mag release in any way, shape, or manner... I have wide, webbed palms and (apparently) a short thumb.  The truth hurts.

Not even with the "off" hand? I have pretty small hands and I can.

Wait...you mean as in draw, drop safety, and fire with strong hand I guess.

I can do it, but does take a little grip adjustment.

My 1911s are primarily range and "show" guns.

brain lapse - I meant to say "safety".  I could reach it with the off hand,... but it would take major "grip shift" to reach it with firing hand.

I'm headed up there tomorrow with a friend. Not buying anything but he's looking for this feller that used to bring in about 5 or 6 used coach guns every show. He is wanting one bad.
I just left my friends house that is going with me, he just got his first AR. I showed him how to disassemble and clean it, he's pretty excited about that! I enjoyed seeing him be happy to learn, now to get him to the range to shoot his own instead of having to borrow one at the range. Your own is so much better than someone elses!

$7 for fishing, $8 for gunshow... $5 for parking.

Gun show prices, in general, were not competetive with the Nashville dealer market in any way.

Around here, they seldom are.  Other than for reloading supplies, gun shows hold little value to me any longer.  The last one I went to was the Guns & Gear Expo that Joe and I produced a few years ago.

Gun Broker and web sites like it have pretty much run the death knell for the smaller gun shows.  The only one that holds any attraction for me now is to at least once visit Wanenmacher's Tulsa Arms Show.

You know, I didn't notice that you said mag release. I'm just so good I read your mind!
