'Tennessee $300 bill'

Keep it, love it, shoot the heck out of it, shoot it some more, love it a bit longer. EVERYONE needs at least one lever!

You know, I have one that I've never shot. I don't even have any 30/30 ammo for it. Got it from my brother-in-law several years ago. Can't even remember the brand or model.

And before you ask me to sell it, I have to say it has been heavily modified from stock form. So it's not really a pretty rifle any more.

I guess I need to find it and get one of you guys to tell me a little about it. lol

But that's not to say that I don't have a good lever gun.

I got a beautiful Rossi 38/357 with the half-cock safety. It is a great rifle!

Patton said the M1A1 was the best battle rifle ever, I think the 30/30 lever action is the equivalent for woods hunting.

Congrats!

congrats! Reminds me, I need to take my 30-30 to the range next time I go. Black rifles have made me neglect the poor Marlin, and at one time it was my only rifle. I need to get it out and run some rounds through ol Lefty the Lever.

Congrats on the lever rifle.  It probably won't be your last.

I got my first lever action (.22 LR) last year.  After the first trip to the range I started looking for my second lever action and got a .44 Henry.

I sold my .308 Vanguard when we moved here. The chances of me taking a shot while hunting in middle TN over 100yrds was slim to none. I now use my Dad's old marlin 336 JM. I wish I would have done it sooner, it is like I take him with me when I go.

Why on earth would someone want a rifle with a lever? :stir: :D

If I got to explain it you wouldn't understand.

This late-comer hunter took his first deer with a JM-stamped 336 I picked up from a member here. Its availability and affordability led me to choose the .30-30.

It was a joke my friend. I've added several more since this photo was taken. :)

I saw a Rossi lever in stainless with wood at the LGS, once.  Dang, that was one pretty rifle.  All my levers are blue and I like the look but there was just something about that stainless that looked great.

Might have been the one you saw. It came from your general area.

You do know that lever actions multiply don't you?   I put one in my safe and a few months later, there were three.... then five.

I had to start keeping them in separate rooms.  :D

Congrats, I inherited a marlin 30-30 last year from my dad when he passed. The cool thing about it is it's dated the year I was born.
