Wyoming: Repeal Gun Free Zones Passes House

"Today, House Bill 114, introduced by Representative Allen Jaggi (R-19), passed in the Wyoming House of Representatives, without amendment, by an overwhelming 42-17 vote.  HB 114 would eliminate specific “gun free zones” in Wyoming, respecting the right of law-abiding concealed carry permit holders to lawfully carry in any meeting of a government entity, any public K-12 school and on the campus of any public college or university. "

We need to work for this in Tennessee through the NRA and our legislature.  Make the handgun carry permit an exemption for parks, schools, and places with no guns signs.  Once you make those fixes like Wyoming is trying, TN would have some of the best carry laws in the country.

Is that the NRA's fault, or because of the Governor and Harwell they know they can't get anything passed?

NRA will NEVER propose that bill in Tennessee.  In fact, I have spoken to no one has even heard from Trevor this year.

Wyoming is a Constitutional carry state; Tennessee is not. You can’t create gun free zones in a state where it’s illegal to carry a gun. Until Tennessee recognizes carry as an individual 2nd amendment right; they don’t get to say squat about gun ban signs.

Tend to agree. Our constitution says,

"That the citizens of this State have a right to keep and to bear arms for their common defense"...

Sounds good right there, right? 'Cept it really ain't so.

"...but the Legislature shall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of arms with a view to prevent crime."

A common bloke like me would have thought that "bearing" and "wearing" were the same concept.

Problem there is Oh Shoot, money comes into play, and the elected folks pay more attention to those who have lots than those who not.

You are correct, "bearing" and "wearing" ARE the same, the TN legislature through the Chamber of Commerce, Fed Ex, Farm Bureau and such don't want you (or me) for that matter, to do either.
